Tom Bradley started Bestop in a small upholstery shop in Boulder, Colorado in 1954. Working out of an old brick schoolhouse with seven employees, Bestop quickly developed a reputation for quality and the word spread. During the next ten years, Bestop continued to grow and its canvas soft tops were distributed throughout the United States, and even internationally. 

More than 65 years later, Bestop is the leading manufacturer of premium soft tops for Jeep Wranglers and CJ's in the world, and has been the sole supplier of factory soft tops for Jeep Wranglers for more than three decades running.

Bestop is located in Louisville, Colorado not far from where it started. With more than 500 employees world-wide, Bestop manufactures a broad line of soft tops and accessories for Jeep CJ and Wrangler, plus an expanding line of Truck Accessories. All Bestop-branded soft tops are designed and manufactured in North America.

Bestop has a long history of ground-breaking new products for Jeep Wrangler. Introduced in 1987, the Bestop Supertop became the gold standard in replacement soft tops for Wrangler and CJ models. Just a few years ago, we created the Trektop NX which became the best-selling premium soft top in the world.

And the innovations keep coming. Bestop introduced the Trektop Pro Hybrid Soft Top which rewrote the book on what a soft top can offer - soft top versatility with the convenience of a hard top rear glass hatch. It's truly unique. Spring 2016 brought the most innovative new product for Wrangler JK in recent memory - the Sunrider for Hardtop. It replaces the factory Freedom Panels on Wrangler JK hard tops with an all-season, all-weather flip-back panel.

With the new Wrangler JL launch in 2018, Bestop shifted into high gear to deliver even more innovation. The factory soft top features zipperless ease of use. Most noteworthy, the entire top folds smoothly and easily into the rear cargo area. Soon thereafter, in the aftermarket, Bestop released the fastback Trektop as well as the Sunrider for Hardtop for the JL.

In 2019, the buzz has revolved around two new products for the JK: the Supertop Ultra, a traditional profile top that folds completely back into the cargo area, and Core Doors, super lightweight aluminum doors that scream quality and versatility. The Core Doors allow you to easily remove the center panel of the door for open-air fun and greater versatility.

Also in 2019, Bestop has paraded out several products for the brand new Jeep JT Gladiator – including the Sunrider for Hardtop and Element Doors. These are in addition to the OE soft top and soft tonneau innovations. The future is now.
